Price and warranty
The diagnostic visit is $90 ($120 in Manhattan) per appliance, and it goes toward the repair if you decide to go ahead. After the diagnosis you get an exact estimate for parts, labor and tax to approve before any work starts. Repairs carry a 6-month parts and labor warranty (1 year on sealed-system repairs).

Is a built-in microwave worth repairing?
