How we diagnose
We check temperatures, fans, the defrost system, sensors, controls and the compressor circuit before we name a part. You hear the cause and get an exact estimate before any work starts. We never replace parts on guesses.
Sealed-system repairs
We are EPA 608 Universal certified, so we can work on the sealed system: leaks, compressor and start relay problems, when the repair makes sense for your refrigerator. Sealed-system repairs carry a 1-year warranty.

Repair or replace?
If a repair would cost more than the refrigerator is worth, we tell you. Fans, defrost heaters, sensors, valves and boards usually cost far less than a new unit.
Price and warranty
The diagnostic visit is $90 ($120 in Manhattan) per appliance, and it goes toward the repair if you decide to go ahead. After the diagnosis you get an exact estimate for parts, labor and tax to approve before any work starts. Repairs carry a 6-month parts and labor warranty (1 year on sealed-system repairs).
Common questions
Why is my fridge warm when the freezer is still cold?
Usually it is an airflow problem: a failed evaporator fan, a coil frozen over after a defrost fault, or a stuck damper. The same symptom has several causes, so we confirm it with a diagnosis.
Should I defrost the fridge before the visit?
Please leave it as it is. A frozen coil shows us which part failed. Move food to a cooler if you need to.
Do you repair built-in and luxury refrigerators?
Yes. We work on Sub-Zero, Thermador, Viking, Miele, Liebherr and other built-in models, as long as parts are available.
